Alex Alfonso is a 14 year veteran of the Miami-Dade Police Department and is a Police Lieutenant currently assigned to the Fiscal Administration Bureau.  He has been on the Hispanic Police Officer’s Association’s Executive Board for over two years and also serves as the Chair for Public Safety Committee for the Saint Theresa Catholic School.

Alex was recently elected First Vice-President after serving two years as the Association’s Sergeant-At-Arms.  During that capacity, he also served as the interim Treasurer on behalf of the Association. 

Alex was born in Miami, Florida.  His father was born and raised in Havana, Cuba.  His mother was born and raised in Queens, New York.  He has been married for 10 years and is the father of two children.  He attended the New World School of the Arts College where he obtained his associates degree and later the Lynn University’s School of Criminology where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
