Officer Danny Ferrin started his law enforcement career with the Hialeah Police Department in 1998, and later moved to the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Police Department (MDCPSPD).  His assignments have included uniform patrol, School Resource Officer, and Canine Unit.  Danny was promoted to Sergeant with MDCPSPD in 2008, and just recently joined the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), in January 2011.  Danny became active in the HPOA because he was proud of the work the organization does to help fellow officers, especially those in need or those seeking career enhancement.  He hopes to “see what new ideas he can bring to help the organization continue helping others.”  Danny is currently employed by MDPD, he was elected to the HPOA Board in November of 2010, while still with MDCPSPD.  This makes him the first non-MDPD officer to be elected to the HPOA Board.
