William (Bill) Hernandez is a 20 year veteran of the Miami-Dade Police Department and is a Police Lieutenant and currently on the Captain’s promotional list. He is currently assigned to the Intergovernmental Bureau.  He has been on the Hispanic Police Officer’s Association’s Executive Board for over six years and heads various committees. He attained the Presidency two years ago after holding various positions on the board. He was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Miami, Florida. His parents are of Cuban decent and his grandparents are from Spain. Bill has been married for 24 years and the proud father of three beautiful girls.  He attended Florida International University, School of Construction, and Lynn University’s School of Criminology where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Executive Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
